# Don't Be Left Behind: Staying Close to God's Purpose. At Papa's Workshop Ministries, we understand that one of the deepest concerns believers face is the fear of being left behind—not just in this world, but in God's eternal plan. Whether you're worried about missing God's calling, falling away from faith, or being unprepared for Christ's return, the good news is that God doesn't want anyone to be left behind. The Heart of the Father "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9) Papa God's heart is for ALL His children to walk closely with Him. He's not looking for reasons to leave you behind—He's actively working to bring you closer. In His workshop, there's always room for those who seek Him with sincere hearts. Are You Drifting? It's easy to drift away without even realizing it. Life gets busy, distractions multiply, and before we know it, our prayer time has vanished, our Bible sits unopened, and our relationship with God feels distant. Here are the warning signs: - **Spiritual numbness**: You feel disconnected during worship or prayer - **Compromising convictions**: Things that once bothered you no longer do - **Neglecting fellowship**: You're isolated from other believers - **Prayerlessness**: You've stopped talking to God regularly - **Fruitlessness**: Your life shows little evidence of spiritual growth ## Five Ways to Stay in Step with God ### 1. Cultivate Daily Intimacy with God Your relationship with God isn't built in Sunday services alone—it's built in the daily moments. Start each day in His presence through prayer and Scripture. Even 15 minutes of focused time with Papa can transform your entire day and keep you aligned with His purposes. ### 2. Stay Rooted in God's Word "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." (Psalm 119:105) The Bible isn't just a book—it's your roadmap for life. Regular time in Scripture keeps you from wandering off course. When you know God's Word, you'll recognize His voice and avoid the detours that lead away from Him. ### 3. Remain in Christian Community "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together...but encouraging one another." (Hebrews 10:24-25) You weren't meant to walk this journey alone. Stay connected to a local church, join a small group, and build relationships with believers who will encourage you, challenge you, and pray for you. Iron sharpens iron. ### 4. Keep Your Heart Tender and Repentant Don't let sin harden your heart. When the Holy Spirit convicts you, respond quickly with repentance. A tender heart that stays sensitive to God's correction is a heart that won't drift far from Him. Pride and stubbornness create distance—humility keeps you close. ### 5. Live with Eternal Perspective "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come." (Matthew 24:42) Live each day as if Jesus could return at any moment—because He could. This doesn't mean living in fear, but in readiness. Let the reality of eternity shape your priorities, your choices, and your relationships. ## The Parable of the Workshop Imagine a master craftsman's workshop where apprentices are learning the trade. Some apprentices stay close to the master, watching his every move, asking questions, and practicing what they learn. Others wander to the back of the workshop, distracted by their phones or chatting with friends. When the master announces it's time to move to the next project, who is ready? Who has learned? Who gets left behind? God is inviting you to stay close, to learn from Him, to work alongside Him. Don't wander to the back of the workshop. Stay where the work is happening—in His presence. ## You're Not Too Far Gone Maybe you're reading this and thinking, "I've already drifted too far. I've made too many mistakes." Listen: God is the God of the comeback. The prodigal son was welcomed home with open arms. Peter denied Jesus three times and was restored. David committed terrible sins and was called "a man after God's own heart." It's never too late to return to Papa's workshop. He's waiting for you with open arms. ## Your Next Step If you've been drifting, today is your day to come back. If you've been coasting, today is your day to press in deeper. If you've never surrendered your life to Jesus, today is your day to begin. Don't be left behind—not because of fear, but because you're so captivated by God's love that you can't imagine being anywhere else but close to Him. **Prayer:** "Papa God, I don't want to be left behind. Draw me close to You. Help me stay faithful, stay focused, and stay in step with Your Spirit. Forgive me for the times I've drifted, and restore my passion for You. I want to be ready—not just for Your return, but for every purpose You have for my life today.
